Thomas J. Weis, Doctor of Musical Arts – Vocal Performance

The pedagogical basis for lessons combines the methodology of the Italian Bel Canto school, the studies of American pedagogues including Berton Coffin, Richard Miller, Barbara Doscher et al, in-depth Alexander Technique and Body-Mapping experience, and over 30 years of teaching, professional performances, and vocal health research.

Voice students of Dr. Weis have successfully completed and continue to be accepted at many prestigious undergraduate and graduate programs throughout the United States. Students continue to receive top honor awards at state solo/ensemble, NATS and other vocal auditions, and regularly earn leading roles within their respective school districts. As adults, many Weis students continue to sing professionally and semi-professionally within their vocal styles of interest, both classical and contemporary.

Dr. Weis teaches Contemporary AND Classical styles. Voice lessons are individually tailored to meet the needs of each voice and each student’s current vocal maturity and ability.
