John McCarty has been teaching at Hartland Music for over 15 years. He teaches all styles of guitar and piano including: classical, jazz, rock, pop, country, and others. Students can request to learn any song and John will provide all the written materials at a level suitable to each student.
John also teaches ukulele, bass guitar, songwriting, banjo, mandolin, accordion, harmonica, music composition and computer-based recording. He has been a performing musician for 20 years as a guitarist, pianist, multi-instrumentalist, vocalist and songwriter. John has four full-length recordings of original songs and he composes and produces film and television music right here at his Hartland Music recording studio. John’s recording studio can be used during the lessons upon request.
John holds a Bachelors Degree in Music Therapy and a Master’s Degree in Counseling with specialization in children and adolescent issues. John joined the staff of WCCM in December, 2001. ($30 per 1/2 hour)
