David comes to the Waukesha County Conservatory of Music with a B.F.A. in Multiple Woodwind Performance from UW-Milwaukee. He teaches saxophone, clarinet, flute, and bassoon. David’s past instructors include Curt Hanrahan (sax/flute), Jay Mason (sax/flute), Bill Helmers (clarinet), Jeani Foster (flute), and Beth Giacobassi (bassoon).
He has served as a clinician/coach at many area schools. In April 2008, he was a guest artist with the Arrowhead Jazz Ensemble at the Hot Chili, Cool Jazz concert. As a performer, David’s talents have taken him around the world. Also in 2008, he toured Japan with the two-hour Broadway style show, Blast II: MIX (Music in eXtreme). David’s talents have also taken him to Chicago, New York, and Orlando. His career includes performances with a variety of celebrity artists including Grammy recipients Dianne Shuur, Arturo O’Farrill, The Temptations, The Four Tops, The Box Tops, and Johnny Mathis. Others include singer/songwriter Bobby Caldwell, trumpeter Jon Faddis, and the Cab Calloway Orchestra.
Locally, he has performed with Present Music (nationally recognized contemporary music ensemble), the Skylight Music Theater, Fireside Theater, Cold Sweat, The Mr. Lucky Swing Syndicate, D’CalleSon, Isla Adentro, the Milwaukee Jazz Orchestra, as well as various pit orchestras. He has recorded with Thor Bremer, Mare Edstrom, and the All-Star SUPERband. David currently performs weekly in the 17-piece jazz ensemble, the All-Star SUPERband.
