Carl has been professionally playing both keyboards in touring groups and also jazz piano since he was 14 years old. He began playing in rock groups at the age of 14. He continued performing in touring groups for hotels, lounges, restraunts until the age of 39. During this period Carl played in groups opening for national acts at Summerfest and many other night clubs and festivals and concerts around the mid-west. Later, he moved from touring groups to solo jazz piano. He has performed for 15 years playing both contemporary and jazz piano music in many restaurants and piano bars. In addition to those piano bar appearances he played many private functions such as weddings, corporate parties and private parties in the Milwaukee and Hartland areas.
Carl has been an instructor at Hartland Music for 19 years teaching beginner and intermediate traditional and classical piano. He also offers the study of jazz and blues piano, fake book or lead sheet playing or playing by chord symbols with melodies. Several of Carl's students have gone on to play professionally, one of them touring internationally with the Glenn Miller Band while others have played and recorded regionally. Carl also offers courses such as Computer Music Theory, which is a course done entirely on computer teaching the basic of music theory. Music Technology , which teaches how to do multi track recording while learning, arranging, basic music production, and engineering.

($30 per 1/2 hour, $41.25 per 45 min, $56 per hour)
