Beginning through advanced level children and adults love exploring music’s incredible offerings with Ms. Kottke as their guide. She has been teaching private piano for 16 years and has experience with children as young as 4. Although classical music is her favorite genre, Ms. Kottke enjoys teaching a variety of music.
Students who are diverse learners enjoy their own unique musical journeys with the abundant patience and love of a remarkable teacher. Ms. Kottke has 3 years experience teaching children who are diverse learners to play the piano. She has also completed programs such as “The Inclusive Teaching Course: Teaching Piano to Students who are Special Learners,” from the Frances Clark Center, and has earned a Graduate Certificate in Autism Spectrum Disorders from the University of Kansas.
Encouraging students to find that musical spark within themselves is what is most important to her, because that is what will stay with them long after they have moved on from her studio.
Ms. Kottke holds a M.M. from the University of Southern Illinois, a B.A. from Carroll University, and spent two years studying at Eastman School of Music.
